So nice to live close to family (well, kinda close....)

We were very happy that my brother John has a break from school this month so we could go visit him and his family. We were able to spend Labor Day weekend with them in Dallas, which is about 3.5 hrs from OKC.

John and Misa welcomed us to Texas by taking us to dinner at a Southern family-style restaurant. I think Caleb won the chicken eating contest. He always manages to eat everything off of his plate and about 1/2 of everybody else's food.

Our kids had such a good time with their cousins. Emi has been asking me all week if we can go back.

Cooling off from the Texas heat.

The next day we were able to see downtown/uptown Dallas and celebrate Elliot's birthday.

Happy Birthday Elliot!

Enjoying some Tex-Mex food.

People in the South LOVE Elvis the Pelvis.

Dallas is so BIG with so many places to shop (not to mention very, VERY H-O-T).

Riding the trolley around Dallas.

On our way home, I made Brian stop and get us some fried pies. I just had to find out what exactly they were. It's kind of like a hostess pie but they make them fresh. The peach and apricot were my favorite.

They should come with a "Caution: extremely hot" warning like McD's coffee.

Thanks guys for letting us crash your house for the weekend! We can't wait to come back!

That is fun that you got to see John and family. Fried pies- hmm...... interesting.

That Sushi story makes me sick... but maybe it would sound better if I actually LIKED sushi.
