July 2015 Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, and family time!

Jackson Hole and Yellowstone

My family visits Jackson Hole at least once a year. And this photo basically explains why.
My Dad took most of these pics.

Fire Hole River, Yellowstone.
Growing up, we used to come to this place all the time. So fun that we could take our kids there! They had a blast! I don't remember it ever being this busy. The water is warm(-ish), and it's fun to jump into the river and get sucked under and shot back up around the bend. It's not so fun if you hit a rock on the bottom though. But I won't embarrass my dad with that story...

Caleb jumping into the river.

Soaking in the hot spring-fed river with my sis and our girls.

Lesson learned. You will spend a fortune at any hotel you stay in during the busy season. Even the Motel 6.

Hiking up to Hidden Falls with our cousins.

We took a boat ride back to Jenny Lake from Hidden Falls.

My cousin Tiffany and her cute family.

 Enjoying the view

brrrr!

It's also been a tradition for over 25 years to go see the Bar-J Wranglers. They are still just as funny and entertaining as they were when I was 16.

Waiting for the chuck wagon dinner and show to start.

Road trips are more fun with cousins!

Waiting for Old Faithful

We returned to Old Faithful later in the evening and were able to enjoy the show from the porch, sitting in the rocking chairs. That's the way to do it!

We found 45/50 license plates on this trip!

And Where Was Kali????
She was off in Florida being a pirate with one of her besties from Oklahoma!

Staying in fancy villas and eating at fancy restaurants. She's so fancy.
I'm 100% sure this is exactly what they did the full two weeks they spent together.

Caleb turns 13!

We had fun celebrating this teenager!

He's ready for his air-soft gun wars....
...and to go backpacking with his dad...
...but he was most excited to get this little cube!

That's as fancy as I get with cake.

 Family pic on his birthday

Draper Days
Draper days is so fun for the dogs! Apollo did this racecourse seven times!

 Posing with Mr. Crocodile

Mi La-Cai. Caleb's favorite restaurant and his birthday dinner choice.

East Coast Cousins!
We have also been able to visit with our cousins from Connecticut! Movie night at the Crawford's. We wish they lived closer!

Other July Randomness...

It is already time to start getting ready to go back to school. Boo. Kali and I did some shopping at the outlets. School shopping is plain exhausting.

July 24, Pioneer Day
Brian and Caleb doing what they love to do most: blow up stuff with fireworks.

It was loud.

Weber River

This moose was minding his business, taking a soak in the river, when our kids almost ran right into him. Rude.

Squirting Grandpa

More Cousin Time

This is very typical of what happens when family comes to visit...

Elliot was not going to let Caleb win ;)

The newest family member :)

Poor Nox was the dress-up doll.

The Austin and Astle Grandkids. We missed the Weavers.

 Ensign Peak

We went on a little evening climb up to this peak.

Holding the blue moon in her hand.

Kali got some amazing shots. That girl is legit!
